Levels: Intermediate - Level B1, Upper Intermediate - Level B2, Advanced - Level C1
This course is a combination of IELTS and Conversation. Available in the morning and afternoon.
In this IELTS preparation course, you will:
Academic Writing *
*Analysing and describing graphs, diagrams, charts and tables
* Expressing your opinion; making an argument for or against a particular topic
* Vocabulary and grammar needed for the above
* Academic style language and paragraph structure
* How to satisfy IELTS marking criteria
Academic Reading
* Strategies for identifying answers quickly
* Skim, scan and detailed reading skills
* Paraphrasing
* Strategies for predicting what you will read
Speaking
* Building confidence in speaking ability
* Reducing speaking errors
* Extended speaking without stopping
* Giving your opinion and justifying it
* Comparing and contrasting; summarising and analysing
Listening
* Identifying key words and synonyms
* Understanding question types and the type of answers required
* Strategies for predicting what you will hear
* Vocabulary needed for different contexts
* Spelling rules
AND our Conversation classes focus on:
*vocabulary – widen your vocabulary range, sound more professional, use a wide variety of expressions
*pronunciation – be easily understood, soften the accent and correct pronunciation
*confidence – become confident when talking at work, in public, on the phone or with friends
*Fluency – speak with ease, without long pauses, self-corrections or repetitions
Our students can join a FREE conversation session outside the school (local cafe, gallery, pub etc) every Wednesday evening.
1 IELTS class = 60 minutes
1 Conversation class = 50 minutes
