English Exam Preparation 20 lessons per week
Qualifications: Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
Our General English courses run throughout the year.
Students are required to take an entry level test in order to assess their level and must also fill out a needs analysis form to better tailor the lesson for their needs.
Speak Up London is a Cambridge Exam Preparation Centre and our CAE lessons offer students the opportunity to study in a fun, challenging and engaging environment which encourages them to aim for the highest possible level of achievement.
All of the 5 main areas of English that students’ are tested on are covered – Reading, Writing, Use of English, Listening and Speaking.Up to date course books are used as a guideline and structure for the classes, but are supplemented with a lot of extra handpicked materials and taken on occasional excursions which aim to immerse students into real life examples of speaking English.
Teachers seek constant improvement from the students and set demanding tasks which push the students to strive for academic excellence. A CAE mock exam is undertaken every Friday so that students become accustomed to the requirements of the exam; teachers have a record of their continual development which allows both the teacher and student to make the best decision on when to take the exam. The exam is accepted by educational institutions worldwide, including top universities and colleges in Australia, North America and the UK. As well as using your certificate for university applications worldwide. The exam focuses on Level C1 (IELTS band score 6.5 to 8.0) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) the level required for academic and professional success.
Supported by the largest research programme of its kind, the exam is designed to be fair to users of all nationalities and linguistic backgrounds. It covers all four language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. Stand out from the crowd and get your CAE certificate now!.
You can book your CAE exam at the school without having to go to the test centre.
You will also have the benefit of the school being able to view your results as soon as they are published.
This course combines a total of 15 hours per week plus 5 extra speaking and accent reduction classes.
Although the school promotes speaking in English as much as possible we have multilingual staff available should you need to speak your native language.
Speak Up London will provide the students with all the learning materials in class and it is also possible to rent or purchase the coursebook at the reception.
To rent/purchase a coursebook will cost between £20 to £25 depending on the book.
