Terms & Conditions: Purley Language College
- Services must be paid in full 14 days before the course starts in order to complete the enrolment and secure a place in the course and/or accommodation.
- Bank charges are payable by students
- Students must be 5 years of age or over
Cancellation policy
- The cancellation needs to be communicated in writing to the school by the person who booked the course.
- No course changes will be allowed to make up for refunds in the case of course cancellations.
- Where a cancellation is received 14 days after enrolment there will be no refund.
- The deposit is non-refundable.
- Enrolment fee is non-refundable.
- The registration fee is non-refundable.
- Accommodation booking fee is non-refundable.
- After a course has started there is no refund for any accommodation or other item booked.
- No tuition refunds are given for late arrivals, early departures or absences, for whatever reason, from classes during any course.
- If a student is absent for one or more weeks at a time, arrangements can be made for the course duration to be extended at no extra cost.
Refund policy
- Bookings may be cancelled up to 2 weeks prior to commencement of the course without penalty or fee.
- A cancellation fee of € 250 applies when a course is cancelled less than 2 week/s before the course commencement date.
Visa refusal
- In case a visa is refused to the student, the school will charge 250 Euro and the remaining balance will be refunded to the student upon receipt of an original VISA refusal letter.
Other terms
Paying
Students who DO NOT need a Visa have to pay £80 for joining the college. (Registration fee)
Students who DO need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) or Letter of Sponsorship (for visa) have to pay £200 for joining the college. (Registration fee)
Students who need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) or Letter of Sponsorship (for visa) have to pay half their fees when joining the College.
The fees should be paid two weeks before you start your course.
If you pay by credit card you have to pay a 3.5% extra charge.
Fees do not include books, exam fees and most activities.
Cancellations & Refunds
If you want to cancel a course, you must do so in writing 2 weeks before you start the course to get a refund of your course fees.
If you cancel a course without telling us 2 weeks in advance you will not get a refund.
Refunds will only be given in the following circumstances:
Visa rejection - The Embassy Letter of Refusal must be sent to the College to apply for the refund. Please allow up to 6 weeks for processing visa refunds. The registration fee is NOT refundable.
Illness - if you are ill you will need to give us a valid certificate from a doctor.
Special personal circumstances will be considered at the discretion of the College Director.
The College will keep £200 for processing refunds and all bank charges must be paid by the prospective student. In all cases contact the College at the earliest opportunity as we may be able to help in other ways such as later start dates.
Visa Obligations
Attendance: Students granted a student visa must report to College on the date the course starts, and then attend at least 15 hours tuition per week. Students failing to comply with Visa Regulations will be reported to the UK Border Agency.
Accommodation
Homestay accommodation is organised by the College. A non-refundable £80 finding fee applies.
If you want to cancel your Homestay accommodation, you must do so in writing at least 2 weeks before you want to cancel the accommodation.
If you cancel a course without telling us 2 weeks in advance you have to pay up to 2 weeks of the accommodation fees.
Students must obey the Rules and Regulations of living in Homestay accommodation. A copy of these will be given to the student on arrival.
Insurance
The College accepts no responsibility for loss of property either within or outside the College.
Students are advised to purchase insurance, including medical insurance, before leaving their own country.
Students staying in Host Families should make sure that their insurance will cover any accidental damage to the property or possessions of the family.
General
The minimum student age is 5 years old.
Children will not be put in a class with adults.
The minimum age for adult classes is 16.
The maximum class size is 15 students.
The school closes for the last two weeks in December and the first week in January, and all UK bank holidays.
No fee reduction is made for weeks with a bank holiday.
The College’s social activities programme contains either free or low cost activities.
The number of organised social activities will vary at different times of year, with more available in summer and less in winter. See the notice boards for latest details.
In all cases the decision of the Directors will be final on all students and teachers.
