Qualifications: Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE)

Levels: Intermediate - Level B1, Upper Intermediate - Level B2

This course has been designed for foreign nationals who live, work or study in the Wexford area and who are seeking a renowned English qualification to value their level of English.

Typically students are studying in Wexford secondary schools or colleges, work as au pairs or have full time employment in Wexford. Registered Slaney Language Centre full time students may book this course as add on to their existing course.

Classes are comprehensive exam preparation focusing on all sections of the exam with exam paper practise and exam strategy advice. The programme is highly intensive and will require private study assignements in addition to class work.
These are small classes with 5 students on average.

Closing day for exam application is normally six weeks before the exam dates. Usually Slaney Language Centre students sit the exam at the UCD in Dublin.

Terms: The Slaney Language Centre

- Services must be paid in full 21 days before the course starts in order to complete the enrolment and secure a place in the course and/or accommodation.
- Bookings are not transferable.
- Bank charges are payable by students

Cancellation Policy

- The cancelation needs to be communicated in writing to the school by the person that booked the course.
- No course changes will be allowed to make up for refunds in the case of course cancellations.
- The deposit is non-refundable.
- No refund will be made for shortening the course duration after the payment.
- There is no refund for any cancellation once the course has commenced.
- After a course has started there is no refund for any accommodation or other item booked.
- No tuition refunds are given for late arrivals, early departures or absences, for whatever reason, from classes during any course.

Refund Policy

- Bookings may be cancelled up to 15 weeks prior to commencement of the course without penalty or fee.
- If a course is cancelled more than 8 days before course start: % refund
- If a course is cancelled between 1 and 7 days before course start: % refund

Visa Refusal

- In case a visa is refused to the student, the school will charge 150 Euro and the remaining balance will be refunded to the student upon receipt of an original VISA refusal letter.

Other Terms

All cancellations must be made in writing. The cancellation date will be the date on which the SLC receives the written cancellation. Cancellation fees are:
Up to two weeks before commencement of the course: EUR 200, 8 to 15 days before commencement of the coruse: 50%, cancellations of 7 days notice or less: full payment. Tuition or accommodation fees are not refundable if a participant arrives late or wishes to leave a course early. The SLC will not refund any fees for absence or illness.
