General English + conversation 20 lessons per week
Levels: Beginner, Elementary - Level A1, Pre-Intermediate - Level A2, Intermediate - Level B1, Upper Intermediate - Level B2
Students will be taught by experienced IELTS tutors in small classes (maximum of 15 students). This will enable the teachers to rapidly assess students' language strengths and areas for improvement and adjust the programme of study accordingly. Classes will be activity based and taught solely in English. This immersion in the speaking of English alongside regular test practice will lead to a rapid improvement in exam technique and the quality of students' written and spoken English. Those that opt for the Homestay experience will stay with a local family in their home and will experience everyday English life and thereby practice their English with native speakers.
Outside timetabled English classes there will be a programme of activities which may include sports, games, punting on Cambridge's river Cam, cultural visits and bowling. On the weekend full day excursions will be arranged. For example, visits to London, Oxford and Windsor Castle. (Note: the specific nature of the activities and excursions will vary according to the weather, time of year and length of visit.)
