Italian Cooking

Linguaviva is an Italian language school in the centre of Florence, founded in 1976 and part of the Linguaviva Group, with a second school in Milan (Linguadue). The school is in a quiet street next to Santa Maria Novella railway station: it occupies two floors of an elegant 19th-century building and one floor of a similar building opposite. Classrooms are bright, air-conditioned and equipped with audio-visual material, there is a small garden and free Wi-Fi, and students come from about 60 countries. Linguaviva is a member of IALC and ASILS, a PLIDA examination centre (Società Dante Alighieri) and is recognised for Bildungsurlaub in several German states and by CSN in Sweden. Courses for adults (from age 16) are taught at all levels from A1 to C1, in groups of up to 14 students, with 45-minute lessons: Standard (20 lessons a week), Intensive (30), Super Intensive (20 in a group + 10 one-to-one), Italian + Cooking, Italian + Arts (fashion, photography, painting), the Cultural Programme for 50+ and Italian Wine Lovers. Non-beginners can start any Monday; complete beginners start on the dates in the booking guide. Students can stay with a host family (single room, half board or bed & breakfast) or in a shared flat (single room, self-catering, from 18), at most 15 minutes by bus from the school. The school organises a social programme with guided visits, lectures on Italian culture and weekend excursions (Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Chianti and more).
