General English in the afternoon: 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 13:00-16:15, maximum 16 students per class, starting any Monday. Courses are designed to give students the language skills to communicate effectively and confidently in English. Cork English World, Crawford Park, Bishop Street, Cork. Registration fee 75 EUR; compulsory course book 55 EUR (paid at the school).

Students can borrow books and DVDs from the school. The school is wheelchair accessible.
On their first day of tuition, students do a short 3-part Placement Test (Speaking, Listening and Writing) in order to assess their level of English and are then assigned to the appropriate class. Courses are held at all levels from A1 to C1.

- Bank charges are payable by students
- Students must be 18 years of age or over
Cancellation policy
- The cancellation needs to be communicated in writing to the school by the person who booked the course.
- The deposit is non-refundable.
- No refund will be made for shortening the course duration after the payment.
- There is no refund for any cancellation once the course has commenced.
- After a course has started there is no refund for any accommodation or other item booked.
- No tuition refunds are given for late arrivals, early departures or absences, for whatever reason, from classes during any course.
- If a student is absent for one or more weeks at a time, arrangements can be made for the course duration to be extended at no extra cost.
Refund policy
- Bookings may be cancelled up to 6 weeks prior to commencement of the course without penalty or fee.
- If a course is cancelled more than 30 days before course start: 50% refund
- If a course is cancelled less than 21 days before the start date full price will be charged.
Visa refusal
- In case a visa is refused to the student, the school will charge €200 Euro and the remaining balance will be refunded to the student upon receipt of an original VISA refusal letter.
Other terms
Terms & Conditions (CEW 2027):
- A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of EUR 200 is required at the time of booking. The balance of the course fees must be paid in full at least 4 weeks before the start date. A non-refundable registration fee of EUR 75 applies to all bookings.
- Cancellation: more than 6 weeks before the start date, full refund of fees paid (excluding deposit and registration fee); between 4 and 6 weeks before, 50% refund (excluding deposit and registration fee); less than 3 weeks before, no refund. No refund once the course has started. Fees are not transferable to other students or courses.
- Visa refusal: with the official refusal letter, CEW keeps a EUR 200 administration fee and refunds the rest of the fees paid.
- Placement test (written and oral) before arrival. Complete beginners may be given individual lessons instead of group classes for up to 4 weeks (non-visa students only).
- CEW is closed on Irish public holidays: no classes, no refund or discount.
- CEW may cancel or modify a course; in that case it offers an alternative or refunds all fees paid.
Transfers: the Cork Airport transfer is included (free of charge) for homestay accommodation, between 10:00 and 23:00 at weekends. No transfer service is available for apartment accommodation.
