General English 20 lessons per week
Levels: Beginner, Elementary - Level A1, Pre-Intermediate - Level A2, Intermediate - Level B1, Upper Intermediate - Level B2, Advanced - Level C1, Proficient - Level C2
Students can join our General English Half-Day Group Course every Monday. As with all of our courses, the maximum group size is 10 students ensuring lots of speaking time and individual attention. Lessons will take place Monday to Friday 09:30 to 13:00.
New students will be given a short assessment and then placed in a group suitable for their level. Our experienced teachers will ensure that much of your time will be spent speaking and listening while at the same time developing your grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills. There is a daily coffee break at 11:00 providing the perfect opportunity to practise spoken English and meet other students from around the world.
Example Morning Programme:
09:30 to 11:00 - Language Development and Spoken Performance
- Introductions and needs analysis
- Speaking and Listening skills including fluency development for social interaction.
- Grammar activities and vocabulary development.
- Discussions on UK culture and current affairs.
- Pronunciation, rhythm, intonation and stress,error correction, idiomatic and colloquial language, phrasal verbs.
11:15 to 12:45 - Written Communication
- Reading texts for grammar and vocabulary development
- Writing skills including: letter writing, note-taking, report writing and emails.
- Telling a story: describing and linking words and expressions.
- Expressing attitudes and ideas.
- Register: use of formal and informal language.
