The New Zealand Certificate in English Language is designed to ensure students receive a high quality English education and are prepared to move on to further studies and work in New Zealand and other English speaking countries.

The New Zealand Certificate of English Language (NZCEL) is the main English language qualification offered in New Zealand. It is offered at 6 levels from Level 1 (foundation) to Level 5. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), which is responsible for approving all qualifications offered by Institutes of Technology and private schools in New Zealand, requires that all schools accept NZCEL as proof of English ability for entry into certificate, diploma, and degree programs. NZ employers also accept NZCEL as proof of English ability.
